The 15-inch Air carries the same battery life rating from Apple as the 13-inch Air, despite its larger size. When Apple switched from Intel processors to its own, the Air’s battery life increasing by a huge 50 percent, from 12 hours to 18 hours (as measured by Apple). What matters here is the MacBook Air 15-inch is a highly capable laptop that handled every task I threw at it with ease-including some more demanding tasks like image and video editing.

Will you get better performance from a MacBook Pro using the M2 Pro chip? Yes, in part because the Pro range has a fan that can kick in when needed, for instance, when you’ve run a processor-intensive program for an extended time. Since there’s no fan on board, the laptop is utterly silent. In my usage, the 15-inch Air never slowed down or became especially hot, no matter how many programs I had running. The result: The 15-inch Air with the M2 processor still feels peppy, with processing power that’s more than enough for most activities. While the M2 Pro pushes performance, the difference between M2 Pro and M2 was less noteworthy in day-to-day use. Now, it’s the baseline processor on the 15-inch MacBook Air. Previously, the more powerful version shipped on the MacBook Pro line and a step-up version of the MacBook Air. This processor came in two versions: One with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, and the second with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. Turns out this talk is much ado about nothing. Since Apple first announced this laptop at its WWDC 2023 event, I’ve seen a lot of chatter around the processor, which is the same M2 Apple silicon introduced last year. Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio tracks have more power and a more immersive soundstage. This makes for much better sound than on the smaller iteration of the Air: wider, beefier and more impressive.
Also new: Where the 13-inch MacBook Air has four speakers, the 15-inch Air has six. The speakers now hide inside the hinge, pumping the audio forwards so it bounces off the display.
The biggest change comes in the speaker array. If you want to take advantage of the laptop’s fast charging feature, you need to buy the optional 70-watt USB-C power adapter. This is the first entry-level MacBook Air to include this adapter (previously, it only came with pricier step-up models). The 15-inch model comes with a dual port 35-watt power adapter, so you can charge another USB-C device (like your iPhone or iPad) at the same time you charge the laptop itself. Most of the time it sits inside the menu bar. But on this bigger display, I hardly found that cut-out a nuisance. There’s a cutout to house the FaceTime HD camera, as on the 13-inch MacBook Air. If you're asking my personal opinion, I wouldn't choose starlight because I agree that it might be slightly too feminine for a guy, but I'm sure you will find plenty straight male youtubers who are very happy with starlight and I'm sure there's a lot of ppl here who can help you better on that issue.The 15.3-inch display on the new MacBook Air. Clearly you are interested in starlight so you should maybe try again somewhere else to see it in person. As for the colour I don't know if my advice will be as good. So I'm happy with the specs I chose because it will have to last for many years to come.

I didn't uninstall any apps yet that come loaded on (garage band, imovie, etc) and I've installed 8 adobe software including everything from premiere pro to photoshop, lightroom, after effects, and more.

I still have 274gb of free space at the time of writing this. I have midnight M2 Air with 16gb/512gb ssd. It's good that you definitely are set on 16gb ram.
